SUBJECT TO CHANGE WHEN PORTING TO LIVE SERVERS

Something is happening at the Weather Station, you should go check it out. [Recommended Level: 50]

This guide is broken up into the following sections:

  • Recommended Gear and Buffs

  • How to start the event

  • The Storm Goliath's stats and attacks

  • Rewards Checklist

Neurological Warfare (or Robot Warfare) is part of the Skyline Valley Update that drops in June 2024.

This event will be permanently added to the Public Event list.

A notification will appear in the top left-hand corner of your screen and the World Activity tab in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

There are two ways to enter the event:

1. Use the World Activity or event icon on the map.

2. Fast travel to Hawksbill Weather Station, open the yellow blast door using the button on the right wall, then go up the stairs on the left and proceed through the blue door.

Both methods will take you to the Robot Testing Waiting Room. When the timer is ready, interact with the door marked "Quality Control" to enter the Arena.

Recommended Gear and Buffs

  • Jetpack torso mod

  • Marsupial mutation

  • Speed Demon mutation

  • Damage Output buffs such as food, chems, and alcohol.

  • Max AP and AP Regen Food Buffs

  • Energy Resistance Food Buffs

  • Turn off all unrelated event and quest map markers in your pip-boy

How to start the event

You don't need to have started or completed the Skyline Valley questline to initiate this Boss Event.

To trigger the event, launch a nuke anywhere within the Skyline Valley region. I recommend targeting Big Meadows Gas Well, ensuring the entire map icon is covered by the nuke zone. This will guarantee the event is triggered and allows other players to explore the new region, run the questlines, and participate in other events without having to dodge nukes and nuke zones.

The Storm Goliath's stats and attacks

Special thanks to the Super Awesome Coffee888.

There are three Storm Goliaths, each a 3* legendary with an HP of 208,000, and they all spawn simultaneously.

It is advised that you work on lowering the health of each Goliath at the same time.

The Storm Goliaths have an additional damage resistance built in. All Goliaths start with 20% damage resistance. When you kill one, the remaining two increase to 40% damage resistance. When you kill a second Goliath, the last one left gains a 60% damage resistance.

To effectively weaken the Storm Goliaths, you must cripple their limbs as part of the battle mechanics.

7 parts on each Storm Goliath need to be crippled. If you're unsure how to cripple enemies, please consult my guide on crippling tactics here.

Storm Goliath's Attacks

Type of Attack:

Melee Attacks

  • Kick and 4 swipe attacks

  • Charged Stomp

  • Lunge Forward

  • Rush Stomp

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Equip perk card Blocker under Strength

  • If you cripple the Goliaths fast enough, then they can't use their Melee Attacks

Type of Attack:

Thunder Clap

Aerial Attack

The Blue Light attacks, as shown in the photo, will track you if you remain stationary for too long. They inflict damage similar to the red missile strikes from the Invaders from Beyond event.

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • If you see the Storm Goliath raise their arm to start the Thunder Clap attack, cripple their legs so they stagger. This will interrupt the attack cycle.

  • Buff your Energy Resistance and don't stay in the same place for a long period of time.

Type of Attack:

Electric Floor

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Don't stand on the parts of the floor that have electrical sparks on them.

Type of Attack:

Giant Tesla Rifle

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Buff your Energy Resistance

  • If you cripple the Goliaths fast enough, they can't use their Tesla Rifles

Type of Attack:

Mine projectile

These will drop from the Storm Goliaths

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Buff your Energy Resistance and don't stay in the same place for a long period of time.

Type of Attack:

Robobrains with mini-guns and grenades will spawn continuously, three at a time, about 20 seconds apart.

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Buff your Energy Resistance

  • If possible, tank the damage from the Robobrains, as they primarily serve to divert attention from defeating the Storm Goliaths within the time limit.

  • For those less equipped for direct combat, focus on eliminating the Robobrains, allowing the more combat-ready players to concentrate on taking down the Storm Goliaths.

Type of Attack:

Lost

Will only spawn once you have destroyed the first Storm Goliath.

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Buff your Energy Resistance

  • If possible, tank the damage from the Lost, as they primarily serve to divert attention from defeating the Storm Goliaths within the time limit.

  • For those less equipped for direct combat, focus on eliminating the Lost, allowing the more combat-ready players to concentrate on taking down the Storm Goliaths.

Type of Attack:

Lost Champions

Will only spawn once you have destroyed a second Storm Goliath.

How to avoid it or reduce the damage:

  • Buff your Energy Resistance

  • If possible, tank the damage from the Lost Champions, as they primarily serve to divert attention from defeating the Storm Goliaths within the time limit.

  • For those less equipped for direct combat, focus on eliminating the Lost Champions, allowing the more combat-ready players to concentrate on taking down the Storm Goliaths.
