Skyline Valley Event: Dangerous Pastimes

With thanks to Coffee888 and SugarBombsRADS

SUBJECT TO CHANGE WHEN PORTING TO LIVE SERVERS

Some settlers require help with their thrill-seeking activities. [Recommended Level: 50]

This guide is broken up into the following sections:

  • The Event

  • Harvest Part spawn locations

  • Rewards Checklist

Dangerous Pastimes is part of the Skyline Valley update that drops in June 2024.

This event will be permanently added to the Public Event list.

A notification will appear in the top left-hand corner of your screen and in the World Activity tab in the bottom left-hand corner.

As with all new events, Dangerous Pastime will run on the hour, every hour for the first two weeks after the patch.

You do not "need" any particular items or equipment for this event however the following is recommended to make the event a little bit easier:

  • Jetpack torso mod

  • Marsupial mutation

  • Speed Demon mutation

  • Damage Output buffs such as food, chems, and alcohol.

  • Max AP and AP Regen Food Buffs

  • Energy Resistance Food Buffs

  • Turn off all unrelated event and quest map markers in your pip-boy

This event can be solo'ed providing you run a combat build and have optimized your AP, Max AP, and AP Regen.

The Lost (enemies) drop Miniguns and Handmades, making this event ideal for those in need of steel or looking to unlock Handmade weapon mods. The enemies in Power Armour also drop missiles (Noted just for you Jim!).

The grenades that the Lost throw hurt, a lot, even with high resistances. If you see the grenade alert on your screen, run away quickly.

The Event

You have 2.5 minutes to interact with the intercom and start the event.

David will ask you to wait 15 seconds while the Harvest Parts scan is completed.

The Lost will begin to spawn and attack you now and will continue until the event concludes.

Keep an eye out for Energy environmental hazards from above and make sure to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge.

David will ask you to collect 40 Harvest Parts and install them in the Lightning Harvester. You have 4 minutes to complete this task.

The Lightning Harvester can be found on the ground floor, in the middle of the event area.

Once the 40 Harvest Parts have been collected and installed, David will ask you to wait for the Lightning Harvester to come online.

Once the harvester is online, you have 7 minutes and 30 seconds to charge the Lightning Harvester by killing and harvesting the Lost's Souls.

The Lost Champions (wearing Silver Power Armour) fill the bar faster.

The Lost Champions will mostly spawn on the Lightning Harvester platform, and a few on the stairs leading up to the platform.

There are 8 waves of Lost Champions, with three to four spawning during each wave.

You need to kill ALL the Lost Champions.

The Lost (wearing Vault Suits) have less value and fill the bar slower. The Lost will spawn on the ground and enter the area via the holes in the wall.

Once the bar is full, the Lightning Crab will spawn. You have 3 minutes to destroy the Lightning Crab.

NOTE

The Lightning Crab gives a flat +50 Radiation Attack, regardless of your resistance so avoid getting close and use ranged attacks.

Be aware that enemies may still spawn even after the event has ended, so hold off on looting until you are certain that all enemies have been eliminated.

Harvest Parts

During the event, you'll need to collect and deposit a total of 40 Harvest Parts.

Each metal box contains 1 to 2 Harvest Parts.

While multiple players can collect from the same box simultaneously, you cannot return to a previously looted box for more parts.

There are 25 boxes available throughout the event. Be mindful that the interaction hit boxes on these containers are quite small, so try to avoid collecting from a box at the same time as another player, to prevent blocking the interaction button.

Hi, I'm Kat or Duchess

I'm an Australian data miner who writes farming, event, and food buff guides for Fallout 76.

I believe that all knowledge and information should be free, which is why my guides will never be locked behind a paywall. However, running a website and photo and video editing software does not come cheaply.

So, If you found my guides helpful, please consider buying me a ko-fi (coffee) using the link below.

All monies go towards the tools for writing my guides and maybe for an actual cup of coffee or 3 ;)

Alternatively, share my guides with your fellow vault dwellers and help them to survive the wasteland.
