How to Obtain Hellcat Power Armour and Crafting Plans

To acquire a set of Hellcat Power Armour and the associated crafting plans for each piece, you’ll need to complete a sequence of quests. Here’s the step-by-step guide to unlocking this powerful armor set.


Step 1: Complete the Steel Dawn Questline

Level Requirement: You must be at least level 20 to start the Steel Dawn Brotherhood of Steel (BOS) questline.


Starting the Questline:

Open your Pip-Boy and go to the Radio tab.


Listen to the broadcast that will initiate the quest Welcome to the Neighborhood, directing you to Fort Atlas.


Follow the Questline: Complete the entire Steel Dawn storyline to unlock the Steel Reign questline.


Step 2: Complete the Steel Reign Questline

Begin Steel Reign: Once you’ve completed the Steel Dawn questline, the Steel Reign questline, which includes The Catalyst quest, becomes accessible.


Follow Through the Catalyst Quest: Progress through The Catalyst, which is part of the Steel Reign storyline, to unlock the Hellcat Power Armour and the crafting plan for each of its pieces.

  • 42% Damage Reduction: Standard for all Power Armor, with 7% per equipped piece (up to 42% total).

  • 90% Radiation Damage Reduction: Standard for all Power Armor, with 15% per equipped piece (up to 90% total).

  • Immunity to Fall Damage

  • Increased Strength: Boosts Strength up to a maximum of 11 if below 11.

  • 12% Ballistic Damage Reduction: Unique set bonus.

Hellcat Power Armour Mods Stats

Note: When the Power Armour mod mentions Unarmed, it specifically refers to using the bare fists of the Power Armor suit itself, not any separate unarmed weapons.

  • Description: This mod increases your Intelligence by 2 points. More Intelligence helps you earn more experience points (XP) when completing tasks, and it stacks with other perks or mods that boost Intelligence.


Sensor Array

  • Plan: Hellcat Sensor Array

  • Cost: 200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +2 Perception

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod adds 2 points to your Perception, making it easier to spot enemies from farther away on your Heads-Up Display (HUD) and improves your accuracy. It stacks with other Perception-boosting perks and mods. points, helping you spot enemies from farther away on your HUD and improving accuracy.


Targeting HUD

  • Plan: Hellcat Targeting HUD

  • Cost: 3000 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Highlights living, hostile NPCs (non-player characters)

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod highlights hostile enemies in your field of view, making them easier to spot. It works similarly to Berry Mentats, but Berry Mentats also allows you to see enemies through walls, which this mod does not.

Note: It does not work on cloaked or invisible mutated enemies, such as those in Daily Ops or mutated events.


Recon Sensors

  • Plan: Hellcat Recon Sensors

  • Cost: 600 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Marks enemies with a marker when aiming

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: N/A

  • Description: This mod places a triangle marker on your Power Armor HUD when you aim directly at enemies through your gun’s sights (not in VATS). The marker stays on the enemy until they are killed, making them easier to track during combat.


VATS Matrix Overlay

  • Plan: Hellcat VATS Matrix Overlay

  • Cost: 200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +10% VATS hit chance

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod increases your chance to hit targets in VATS by 10%. It works with the VATS-enhanced legendary weapon effect, meaning the two stack together. For example, if your weapon has a +50% VATS hit chance bonus, this mod adds to it, making it even easier to land shots in VATS.


Headlamp Red Tactical

  • Plan: N/A

  • Cost: 0 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Adds a red tactical headlamp

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: N/A

  • Description:  When you craft the Hellcat Power Armor helmet for the first time, the red tactical headlamp is automatically equipped as the default lighting option. If you'd like to change the color of the headlamp, you’ll need to apply a skin to the Power Armor, as there is no other way to modify the headlamp’s color.

  • Effect: +15% unarmed damage

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod increases the damage dealt by your unarmed Power Armor punches (using the fists of the suit itself) by 15%. If you equip this mod on both arms, it stacks, giving you a total of 30% more unarmed damage.


Optimized Bracers

  • Plan: Hellcat Optimized Bracers

  • Cost: 200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Reduces power attack AP cost by 25%

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod reduces the Action Point (AP) cost of power attacks by 25%, making it cheaper to perform power attacks. It works well with perks or mods that further reduce AP costs.


Rusty Knuckles

  • Plan: Hellcat Rusty Knuckles

  • Cost: 600 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Adds 9 bleeding damage over 3 seconds per arm

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod causes unarmed Power Armor punches to deal 9 points of bleeding damage over 3 seconds. If equipped on both arms, the bleeding damage stacks, meaning a single punch causes a total of 18 points of bleeding damage.


Tesla Bracers

  • Plan: Hellcat Tesla Bracers

  • Cost: 1200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +45 Energy damage

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod adds 45 points of Energy damage to unarmed Power Armor punches. If equipped on both arms, it stacks, giving you a total of 90 points of Energy damage per punch.

  • Description: This mod reduces your chance of becoming addicted to chems by 50%. It works alongside the Chem Resistant perk card, but the effects don’t just add up. Each has a separate roll to reduce your addiction risk, so they work together in a more complex way.


Core Assembly

  • Plan: Hellcat Core Assembly

  • Cost: 1200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +6% AP regeneration

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod increases the rate at which your Action Points (AP) regenerate by 6% per second. It works with other perks or mods that improve AP regeneration, letting you recover AP faster during combat or movement.


Emergency Protocols

  • Effect: +25% movement speed and -50% incoming damage when health drops below 20%

  • Effect: Converts 20% of damage taken into AP

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: N/A

  • Description: This mod turns 20% of the damage you take into Action Points (AP), helping you regain AP as you get hit. You still take full damage, but the AP regeneration helps keep your abilities available.


Medic Pump

  • Plan: Hellcat Medic Pump

  • Cost: 600 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Automatically uses a Stimpak when health drops

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

Description: The Medic Pump automatically uses a Stimpak when your health drops below 50%. If you're already below 50% health (e.g., Bloodied) when you equip it, the pump won’t work right away—it will only trigger after you take more damage. The Medic Pump works with Regular, Super, and Diluted Stimpaks and has no cooldown, so it will keep healing you as long as you have Stimpaks in your inventory.


Motion-assist Servos

  • Effect: +2 Strength

  • Description: This mod boosts your Strength by 2 points, increasing your melee damage and carry weight. It works with other Strength perks and mods, letting you hit harder and carry more items.


Reactive Plates

  • Plan: Hellcat Reactive Plates

  • Cost: 300 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Reflects 50% of melee damage back on the attacker

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod reflects 50% of the melee damage you take back onto the attacker, reducing their health as they hit you. It stacks with the Riposting melee legendary mod, and there’s no limit on how much damage can be reflected.


Stealth Boy

  • Plan: Hellcat Stealth Boy

  • Cost: 3000 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: -

  • Description: This mod activates a stealth field while crouching, making it harder to be detected by enemies. It works similarly to the Chameleon effect but drains Action Points (AP) while active.


Tesla Coils

  • Effect: Deals 5 Energy damage per second to nearby enemies

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod continuously deals 5 Energy damage per second to any enemies close to you. The damage keeps happening as long as enemies stay near, and there’s no cooldown, so it works nonstop.

  • Description: This mod increases your carry weight by 50 pounds per leg. If equipped on both legs, it stacks, giving you a total of +100 carry weight.


Cooling Vent

  • Plan: Known by default

  • Cost: 200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: Fusion Cores drain 5% slower

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod reduces the drain rate of your Fusion Cores by 5%, making them last longer. It stacks with the Power User perk, which further increases the duration of your Fusion Cores.


Kinetic Servos

  • Plan: Hellcat Kinetic Servos

  • Cost: 1200 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +1 AP regeneration per second when moving

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod restores 1% Action Points (AP) per second while moving for each leg equipped with Kinetic Servos. If you have Kinetic Servos on both legs, it stacks, giving you 2% AP regeneration per second.


Optimized Servos

  • Plan: Hellcat Optimized Servos

  • Cost: 2000 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: -20% sprint AP cost

  • Stacks with similar perks and mods: Yes

  • Description: This mod reduces the Action Points (AP) you use while sprinting by 20%, letting you sprint longer without using as much AP. It also works with the Endurance stat, which lowers AP drain by 5% for each point of Endurance. For example, if you have 5 Endurance, that reduces AP drain by 25% (5 x 5%), and with the -20% from this mod, your sprinting AP drain would be reduced by a total of 45%.


Overdrive Servos

  • Plan: Hellcat Overdrive Servos

  • Cost: 2000 Gold Bullion

  • Effect: +10% sprint speed, +25% AP cost for sprinting

  • Description: This mod increases your sprint speed by 10%, but sprinting uses 25% more Action Points (AP). It works with other perks that affect sprint speed or AP drain, but the additional AP cost can make you run out of AP faster.
