Stage 1 Walkthrough
Starting the Encounter
Head to the map marker to find the start button.
Before you jump into battle, use the Thumbs Up emote to signal that you’re ready. Wait for your team to respond with the same emote so everyone knows it’s time to move forward together.
Breaking the Guardian's Shield
Your first objective is to disable the Guardian’s Ultragenetic Shield System by aiming for the shield on its back.
While the shield is up, the Guardian won’t take any direct damage, but your attacks will gradually weaken the shield and may take some of the Guardian's health with it. Anti-armor ranged weapons with VATS critical shots and AP boost rolls will help you bring it down faster, especially if your weapons have Armor Penetration mods.
Attacking the Guardian
Once the shield is down, you can switch to direct attacks. The Guardian will be immobilized and unable to attack, giving you a brief window to deal significant damage. Make the most of this opportunity!
Preparing for the First Super Heat Blast (80% Health)
The first Super Heat Blast will trigger when the Guardian’s health drops to 80% or when the shield is broken—whichever happens last. Occasionally, the Guardian’s health may fall below 80%, but the blast won’t activate until the shield is down. If subtitles are enabled, you’ll receive an on-screen warning, and the PA system will announce: “Energy usage critical. Temperatures reaching unsafe levels. Security bunker online. Take shelter immediately.”
You have 15 seconds to reach the nearest open Blast Door, which will open just in time but close shortly after. If you don’t make it inside, it’s instant death. Once the blast passes, the door will be destroyed and unavailable for future use.
Repeating the Shield Break
After the first Super Heat Blast, the Guardian’s shield will regenerate. Repeat the same tactics as before, using VATS critical shots with anti-armor weapons and focusing on the shield to bring it down.
Preparing for the Second Super Heat Blast (50% Health)
The second Super Heat Blast will occur once the Guardian’s health reaches 50% or the shield is down, whichever happens last. As before, even if the Guardian’s health is below 50%, the blast will not trigger until the shield has been broken. Once the conditions are met, you have 15 seconds to locate and reach an open Blast Door to survive. The blast will destroy the door, making it unusable for the rest of the encounter.
Breaking the Shield Again
Following the second blast, the shield will regenerate once more. Use the same strategy, relying on VATS critical shots and anti-armor weapons to take it down efficiently.
Preparing for the Final Super Heat Blast (49% Health and Lower)
The final Super Heat Blast will initiate as soon as the Guardian’s health drops below 50% and the shield is taken down for the third time—again, whichever occurs last. Quickly reach the last available Blast Door for protection. This will be your final chance to avoid the Super Heat Blast, as all shelters will be destroyed afterward, leaving no more safe spaces.
If the Guardian’s shield regenerates a fourth time and is taken down again, you’ll only have a few moments to finish it off before the room heats up completely, resulting in an instant team wipe and respawning everyone at the stage waiting room.
Finishing the Fight
Once defeated, the Guardian will explode like a Legendary Robot. Keep your distance to avoid damage.
After the explosion, a new door will open, with a map marker guiding you to the next stage.
General Tips
Blast Door Awareness: Know where each Blast Door (A, B, and C) is located. Stay close to them while you’re attacking the Guardian so you can reach cover quickly when the Super Heat Blasts begin.
Stay on the Ground Floor: For quicker escape routes, stick to the ground floor. Reaching cover from the second floor can take too long in critical moments.
Survival is Limited: Each Super Heat Blast destroys the door you used, giving you only three chances to survive. If you don’t defeat the Guardian by the time a fourth blast occurs, you’ll have no cover left, and it’s game over.
Floor Warning: Watch out when approaching the area around the Guardian, as the floor can become electrified.
Melee Shield: Avoid using melee weapons on the Guardian, whether its shield is up or down, as there is an instant-kill electric shield at the base of the Bot Module.
Keep Moving: Avoid staying in one spot too long. The Guardian can destroy nearby pillars and other structures you might use for cover.
