This guide is broken up into the following sections:

  • You will need

  • Lore

  • Daily and Weekly Score Challenges

  • The Event

  • Recommended flower farming route and map

  • Rewards

The Big Bloom is a seasonal event that should start in February or March 2025, with the season 20 update.

The Big Bloom event starts on the hour, every hour at Susan's Cabin on the corner of Skyline Valley and Cranberry Bog regions.

The event has been temporarily added to the Public Event list and when it begins, a notification will appear in the top left-hand corner of your screen and in the World Activity tab in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen.

You will need the following tasks, items, and equipment for this event:

Turn Off Unrelated Map Markers

Disable all unrelated event and quest map markers in your Pip-Boy to make the event markers easier to locate and follow.

Fire Weapons

Flamers, Enclave Plasma Flamers, or melee weapons with fire mods are essential to complete stage 2 of the event.

Fire and Explosive Resistance

Land mines and fire in stage 2 can quickly injure players. Ensure you have adequate Fire and Explosive Resistance.

Enemies

  • Bloatflies

  • Overgrown Thorn

  • Overgrown Elder

  • Beezlebabes (Honeybeasts)

  • End Boss: The final boss is vulnerable to Cryo and Fire weapons.

You cannot solo this event. Multiple players are required to collect enough flowers in stage 1 within the time limit, as it is not possible to complete this task alone before the event fails.

Lore

Special thanks to Nerevar.

There are three holotapes to listen to and two notes to find.

The first lore location can be found at the wagon near the event’s spawn point.

The second lore location is on top of the rock where the final boss appears.

The Event

Pick Flowers for the elderly in a blossoming Minefield

You have 7 minutes to speak to Block-Eyed Susan to start the event.

There will be some dialogue to click through first so don't leave starting the event too late.

Black-Eyed Susan will ask you to gather flowers for her in the meadow while avoiding Landmines, Overgrown, and giant murderous bees.

After speaking with Black-Eyed Susan, a brief countdown of 25 seconds will begin before the event starts.

This event works a little differently from others. Once you "Frolic in the Meadow," a 12-minute timer starts. Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Stage 1: You have 7 minutes to collect flowers.

  • Stage 2: Whatever time remains after collecting flowers is used to complete Stage 2.

  • End Boss: After Stage 2, any remaining time is all you have to defeat the end boss.

For example, if Stage 1 takes 7 minutes and Stage 2 takes 5 minutes, the event will fail because there’s no time left to defeat the end boss.

You can’t mess around during this event—it needs to be a success every time. The plan drop rates are low, and you need to stockpile Crystalcups, Carnal Weepers, and Radlilies to craft the flower crowns, outfits, and tea buffs, which are very resource-heavy.

I suggest that combat-ready players focus on taking out enemies and providing protection, while the less combat-focused players memorize the map (included later in this guide) and focus on picking flowers. If there are only a few players participating in the event, combat-ready players should also grab the flowers that spawn around the building and deposit them during breaks between enemy waves.

You have 7 minutes to collect the following flowers:

30 Crystalcups

30 Radlilies

30 Carnal Weepers

Deposit the flowers in the basket located at the eastern corner of Susan's cabin.

The total number of flowers deposited will display in the top-right corner of your screen.

When you are within 10 feet of a flower, a map marker will appear on your HUD to pinpoint its location. They can be hard to spot among the other non-harvestable flowers.

Multiple players can pick the same flower. Flowers may temporarily disappear when picked due to server lag but will respawn shortly afterward.

Once all 30 of a specific flower type are collected and deposited, their tally will disappear, and they will stop spawning in the meadow. The remaining flower types will continue to spawn.

While collecting and depositing flowers, you will encounter several enemy types:

  • Bloatflies

  • Overgrown Thorn

  • Overgrown Elder

  • Beezlebabes (Honeybeasts)

During this stage, players must locate and turn on the gramophone.

After collecting all the flowers, Black-Eyed Susan will instruct you to burn the remaining Overgrown.

To complete this objective, you must use fire-based weapons, such as flamers, melee weapons with fire mods, or Molotov cocktails.

A total of 25 Overgrown enemies must be set on fire. The bloatflies and the Honeybeasts do not count.

Note: Susan’s "Boom" box contains Molotov cocktails for this purpose.

Once stage 2 is complete, the end boss, Beezlebub, will spawn in the meadow in front of Susan's cabin. Beezlebub is vulnerable to cryo and fire attacks.

After Beezlebub is destroyed, the event will end. However, a final wave of Bee Swarms and Beezlebabes (Honeybeasts) will spawn so don't start looting until you have cleared the meadow of these pests.
