If you build your camp on top of or close to these spawn locations, then the critters may invade your camp and make themselves at home.

In Fallout 76, instead of having many fixed places where critters can appear, there are specific spots where different types of critters can spawn. There are a total of 775 spawn locations in the game.

The list of critters that can spawn at these locations includes:

  • Beaver

  • Cat

  • Chicken

  • Firefly

  • Fox

  • Frog

  • Opossum

  • Rabbit

  • Radstag

  • Squirrel

If a server is old or under strain, then critters will not spawn. I recommend farming for critters in these locations, on private servers.

I recommend the following Critter spawn locations. These have multiple spawn ones in one small area so if something does spawn, then there will be a lot of them.

Video of spawns here.

Toxic Valley

Carleton Mine

Fast travel to Carleton Mine and turn so you are facing between West and Graninger Farm. Jump or Jetpack down the hill until you land at the bottom. Turn West and walk forward. Use VATS to find the first spawn of critters, next to a small empty pond.

Once you have checked that spawn, turn so you are facing Black Bear Lodge and walk forward. Continue to VATS as you walk along to find the spawns on the left and right. Continue walking forward until you reach the Aerosolizer. Turn so you are in line with the Carleton Mine map marker. There should be a tree on top of a hill in front of you. Walk over to the tree and stop at the top of the hill. There should be a junk pile in front of you. Use VATS to pick up the remaining spawn locations in this area.

Grafton Station

From the spawn in location, turn until you are in line with Becker Farm map marker. Run forward, jump over the river, and stop at the top of the hill. There should be a pond with a rusty car in it to your right. Use VATS to pick up the spawn location in front of you. Face West and walk towards the wire fence. There were two more spawn locations on the other side of the fence.

Woods Estate

From the fast travel point, face North and follow the road until you reach the car and tree blocking the road. Stand on top of the tree and face NE. Walk forward and use VATS to find the first spawn location.

Turn North and run over to the truck on the bridge. Stand on top of the truck and face NW. Run forward and use VATS to find the next spawn location.

Turn East and line yourself up with the Crocolossus Mountain water ride (the big green crocodile inside Wavy Willard's). Walk forward until you see a rusty ute/pick-up truck. Stand on top of the ute and turn North. Run forward and up the hill, go past the lake on your left, and keep going until you see a rusty car in front of you. Use VATS to find the spawn in front of the car.

The Forest

Gilman Lumber Mill

From the spawn in location, turn and face South. Run forward, jump over the fence, and stop at the hay bales on your left. Face East and you will see the spawns in front of you, in the field.

Turn and run back to the road. Turn East and follow the road, past all the cars and trucks, until you see a path on your left. Turn and follow the path up until you can see the lake on your right. The spawn is on the other side of the lake, near the dock.

From the dock, face NW and run forward until you get to the lake behind Gilman Lumber Mill. The spawn will be in front of you.

From the lake, face SW and walk forward until you hit the wire fence at the back of the lumber yard. Turn West and follow the path (do not enter the lumber yard), until you see a rusty jeep in the mud. Stand on top of the jeep and face SW. Run over to the jeep in front of you. The spawn is around the jeep.

Marigold Pavilion

From the fast travel point, turn SE and walk forward. Jump over or walk around the lake. On the other side of the lake (SE) keep running straight down the hill and use VATS to pick up the spawn on your right.

From the spawn site above, move your character until you are lined up between West and the Marigold Pavilion map marker. Run straight and jump up three rock ledges. At the top of the third rock ledge, walk straight, past the silt bean plant on your left and stop at the first large tree in front of you. Turn West and walk straight until you get to the Mothman Cultist shrine and the critter spawn.

Stand in the middle of the shrine and face South. Walk forward until you get to the edge of the rock cliff. Turn SE and you will see an NPC yellow dot show up on your HUD. Walk over to the NPC standing on the edge of the rock cliff and use VATS to find the spawn in front of you.

Jump back up the cliff and stand next to the NPC. Face East and run forward until you see a dirt path in front of you. Turn and follow the path (NE). Walk past the teddy bear picnic and continue to follow the path. Use VATS to find the spawn between the path and the main road. There are a few Silt Bean spawns along this last route.

Charleston Train Station

From the spawn in location, face SE and run forward until you are standing in the middle of the field with the rolls of hay. You will be standing in the middle of the spawn.

Ash Heap

Camden Park

From the spawn in location, turn East and run up the hill until you get to the train track. Face SW and follow the train track until you get to the front of the crashed train carriages. The first spawn will be in and around the carriages.

Keep following the train track SW and use VATS to pick up the second spawn location, on your right, on the edge of the train track.

Abandoned Mine Shaft 6

From the fast travel point, run forward and jump up on top of metal half-dome shed. Face East and run forward until you get to the edge of a cliff and you can see the metal house in front of you. Turn South and run forward, down two cliffs, until you see two red and one yellow truck crashed into each other. The spawn will be around the trucks.

Turn North and jump back up to the top of the cliff. Face East and run over to the house. Stand on top of the house and face East. Run forward and follow the road. The spawn is in the middle of the road.

Savage Divide

Twin Lakes

From the fast travel point, turn South and run forward until you get to the edge of the lake. Turn East and follow the lake around the edge until you are standing back at the start. VATS as you walk around the lake to find the spawns around the edge. There is a rare baseball bat spawn in the boat.

Lake Eloise

From the spawn in location, turn South and walk forward. Stop when you walk into the large rock. Turn SW and walk forward a few steps. Use VATS to find the spawn location in front of you.

From the spawn location above, turn North and walk forward. Use VATS to find the spawn location in front of you.

From the spawn above, turn NE and walk forward until you get to a clearing. Turn North and run forward until you get to the first rock wall/cliff. Jump up the cliff, turn right, and use VATS to find the spawn location in front of you.

The Mire

N/A

Cranberry Bog

Drop Site G3

From the fast travel point, turn South and run forward until you hit the tree in front of you. The spawn location is to the left of the tree.

From the spawn location above, turn West and run forward. Just before the ruined house, there is a phosphate deposit vein on your right. The critters will spawn around the vein.

Hi, I'm Kat or Duchess

I'm an Australian data miner who writes farming, event, and food buff guides for Fallout 76.

I believe that all knowledge and information should be free, which is why my guides will never be locked behind a paywall. However, running a website and photo and video editing software does not come cheaply.

So, If you found my guides helpful, please consider buying me a ko-fi (coffee) using the link below.

All monies go towards the tools for writing my guides and maybe for an actual cup of coffee or 3 ;)

Alternatively, share my guides with your fellow vault dwellers and help them to survive the wasteland.
