How to Use This Calculator
Step 1: Understand the Perk
The Bodyguards perk card provides Damage Resistance (DR) and Energy Resistance (ER) based on your Charisma (CHR).
Each point of CHR contributes DR and ER based on a diminishing returns curve.
The resistances are multiplied by the number of teammates (excluding the player).
The soft cap is at CHR 60, where additional CHR yields reduced resistance increases.
Step 2: Review the Graphs
There are four graphs:
Solo Player: Displays the DR and ER for a single player without teammates, showing steady growth up to CHR 60, with reduced gains beyond.
One Teammate: Shows the DR and ER values when you have one teammate.
Two Teammates: Demonstrates the resistances when you have two teammates.
Three Teammates: Displays the DR and ER when you have three teammates in your group.
Each graph follows the diminishing returns curve.
Step 3: Explore the Table
The table provides:
Rounded DR and ER values for each CHR point from 1 to 100.
Separate columns for solo, one teammate, two teammates, and three teammates.
The soft cap (CHR 60) is highlighted, marking where gains in DR and ER per point diminish significantly.
Hey there, I'm Kat, also known as Duchess!
I'm an Aussie data miner who creates guides for farming, events, and food buffs in Fallout 76.
I firmly believe that knowledge should be accessible to everyone, so my guides will always be free. However, maintaining a website and using photo and video editing software can be costly.
If you find my guides useful, here are a few ways you can support me:
- Share My Guides: Help your fellow vault dwellers by sharing my guides.
- Follow Me on Social Media: Keep up with my latest updates by following me on social media.
- One-Time Donation: Buy me a coffee.

Every bit of support helps cover the costs of creating these guides and maybe even gets me a cup of coffee or three ;)
